I write thrillers and science fiction, mostly short stories and novellas, from my home in San Antonio, Texas. By day I’m a software engineer, which means I spend a lot of time thinking about how systems work and, more interestingly, how they fail.

I’ve always been a reader, and I fell hard for thrillers while traveling, the kind of books you can’t put down on a long flight. Those travels have taken me a long way: I’ve lived in Alaska, Colorado, Quebec, Australia, and Texas, and I’ve been lucky enough to visit Antarctica.

My writing started almost by accident. I wanted to stay in touch with friends, so I began sending them stories about my life, like my time in the Army Airborne and my first half Ironman in Galveston. Somewhere along the way I realized that telling the story was the part I loved most, and I haven’t stopped since.

When I’m not writing, I’m usually programming, building Lego models, or running the trails of the Texas Hill Country.
